Distance to scene slightly more than 0.8 meters, focused with autofocus and then switched to manual focus to prevent changes to focusing. Cable remote release used to minimize vibrations and movement. Due to the highly reflective nature of the targets, I tried to keep myself out of the photo to minimize movement, but the cable release cable and part of my hand appears to be visible on the reflection at the cup nonetheless. This might be a potential source of optimization errors in adaptive image processing operations, as there has been some movement between the frames. The first shot is illuminated only by daylight reflecting through the windows and fairly thin and neutral-colored curtains. In the rest flash is bounced from the ceiling, with decreasing amount of ambient light present due to shorter shutter speed. Exposure times are: 0.5 seconds, 1/4 seconds, 1/8 seconds and finally 1/250 seconds to remove the effect of the ambient light almost completely, excluding a few of the brightest reflections. There is also a noticeable underexposure on the final shot, indicating that flash was somewhat underpowered to be the sole light source, at least when used as bounced. The background is fairly close to white where there are no veins of other colors, so it might be useful as a rough white balancing control.
